In May 2024, Dr Siddhartha Mandal has been invited as a member for providing guidance & technical support in the area of Heat Related Illness and Death Surveillance under the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH) a Technical Expert Group under the chairmanship of DGHS& Director, NCDC.  This is a follow-up to National Workshop on Heat Wave 2024: Exploring Management Interventions and Mitigation Strategies held in February 2024.

Dr. Siddhartha Mandal delivered a presentation on the ‘Impact of Heat Waves on All-Cause Mortality in India’ at the “National Workshop on Heat Wave 2024: Exploring Management Interventions and Mitigation Strategies” organized by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). His presentation focsussed on findings from the Consortium’s paper on the “Impact of heatwaves on all-cause mortality in India: A comprehensive multi-city study” published in the Environment International Journal.
